State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials, Donghua University Application Notification of 2014 Visiting Scholar Fund

    Since it was founded in 1992, SKLFPM has successfully passed national assessments in 2003, 2008 and 2013. During these years, it has made significant achievements in many fields such as attracting disciplinary talents, promoting the development of scientific research, constructing the research platform, expanding the academic communication under the guidance of all laboratory leaders and the policy of SKLFPM, "Openness, Mobility, Cooperation, Competition".

    In order to promote domestic and international academic exchanges and cooperation, introduce high-level talents in various forms, improve the Key Laboratory’s academic research level and teaching level as well as promote a high level of discipline construction and the cultivation of high level creative talents, the visiting scholar fund is set according to “Opinions about the Visiting Scholar System in State Key Laboratories and Key Laboratories of Ministry of Education, China in Colleges and Universities”, “Arrangements for Management of the Visiting Scholars Special Fund in State Key Laboratories and Key Laboratories of Ministry of Education, China in Colleges and Universities”, “Administrative Regulations for the Construction of State Key Laboratories”, and “Administrative Regulations for Open Laboratory Management in Colleges and Universities, Ministry of Education, China”. We sincerely invite domestic and foreign researchers in related fields to apply the visiting scholar fund and encourage joint application with our laboratory’s researchers. The laboratory academic committee will determine the visiting scholar fund project on the principle of "fair competition, scientific review, support for the best”.

The guidelines for 2014 annual visiting scholar fund project are released as follows:

I. Main research directions of the visiting scholar project supported by SKLFPM：

1) High performance fibers and composite materials;

2) Functional fibers and low-dimensional materials;

3) Environmentally friendly and bio-based fiber materials;

4) Other basic researches which help to enhance the research level of the laboratory.

Ⅱ. The funding objects and principles：

    The visiting scholar of SKLFPM is divided into two types：overseas scholars and domestic scholars from other institutes of China rather than Donghua University. The overseas visiting scholars should work at SKLFPM at least 3 months/year in principle. The domestic visiting scholars should work at SKLFPM at least 6 months/year in principle.

Funding principles:

1. Each project can be supported 50000 to 150000 RMB by the laboratory and the duration of research project normally ranges from six months to two years.

2. Research should be related to the laboratory research directions and we encourage the applicant to combine with our laboratory’s research group.

3. Encourage interdisciplinary and the complementary research with our laboratory.

III. Application procedure：

1. The applicant shall fill in the application form “The Visiting Scholar Project Application Form of State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials，Donghua University” and submit duplicate hardcopies and electronic edition. The application form should be signed by the applicant and the person in charge of the institute, and sealed by the applicant’s institute before submitting the proposal to SKLFPM. The electronic application form should be sealed, scanned and sent to sklfpm@dhu.edu.cn by e-mail.
