Professor Huayue Zhu obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from North University of China in June 2000, and a Master's and Doctoral degree in Environmental Science from Wuhan University in 2004 and 2012, respectively. He has been the "151 Innovation Talent" in Zhejiang Provence. From 2015 to 2016, he conducted visiting research in the Department of Environmental Engineering at University of British Columbia (Canada). Since 2017,he has held the position of full Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Taizhou University (China). In 2019, Professor Zhu conducted visiting research in the Department of Chemistry at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He is previously the head of the Environmental Engineering and also serves presently as the director of the Institute of Environmental Engineering Technology (IEET). Professor Zhu''s primary research interests are in the field of carbon-based (carbon nanotubes, graphene, etc.) functional materials, Biomass-based functional materials, Green photocatalytic chemistry, etc. He has published over 80 research papers in academic journals, including Applied Catalysis B, Chem Eng J, Bioresour Technol, J Hazard Mater, Desalination, Sep Purif Technol,etc. Published papers have been cited 5100 times by over 300 SCI journals such as Chemical Review and Chemical Society Reviews, with an average of 85 citations per paper. 9 papers have been cited over 200 times; 6 first author/corresponding author papers were selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers and Hot Papers, and 1 paper was awarded the "Top Cited Article" by Elsevier. Professor Zhu has been selected as one of the Top 2% Global Scientists (in the field of engineering) for 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024.
