A facile and environmentally friendly strategy was developed for covalent modification of the convex surfaces of carbon nanotubes (CNT) through a combination of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides and Curtius rearrangement of carboxylic acid azides and its application in grafting polyamide 6 onto the surface of CNT was further investigated.
